Winches?

I'm in the market for a 9500lb winch. What your guy's opinion on Warn, Ramsey and Super winch. I've checked pricing with different companies but I'm more concerned with quality and longevity. Thanks.

If price is not an option, definitely Warn 

Second choice, maybe, a Ramsey 

I will be purchasing the Warn M8274, It is good and fast, in fact i think it is the fastest winch Warn makes.  Very durable.

Personally i'd say Ramsey.. ive seen both perform and I think warn's image has faded over the years. I like Ramsey.. very good reliable winch!

Nother vote for Warn. Had a buddy with a ramsey years ago and he kept tearing up gears inside. They may have changed how they're building them now, but my M8000 warn has never let me down.
Ask Marlin, he's seen just about any and every winch get burned up on suprise canyon, but his 8274 always got him to the top and usually helped a few others up too.

my buddy had the REP 9500lb Ramsey.. and it was awesome!  pulled his Jeep and my toyota up a 45* hill in 2 ft. of snow like it was nothing.

For the price you can't beat it, i'd say go for it CTENG.

same model/brand just different weight capacity, thats why I said 9500lb instead of 8500lb.

I've been comparing Warn and Ramsey. The Ramsey pulls faster at load with less amp draw then the comparable Warn. The warn lists a lower ratio and has a slightly faster no load line pull. I'm checking pricing now between the two.

I don't know much about Ramsey other than they have a better reputation than some of the commonly know "chinese" brands...any info might be helpful.

4 wheelparts is selling a new line of winches that are suposed to be warn but made overseas and are way cheaper but im not shure of the name.

my vote goes for warn.  seen ramsey fail on a very slight hill.  the guy said he wished he'd bought a warn a spent the little bit more.

hahaha well hey I got another backup one for free so sure why can't I ask about them.  I own a Warn 9000i winch rightnow and love it so sure I'm going to say go warn.

I have two warn 8274's one on a cruiser and one on my four runner both are great I bet the one on the cruiser is at least 15 yrs old.  I really like it on the cruiser I had to cut into the grill to set it back far enough on the runner.  The only thing I did on each one of mine was replace the power and ground leads with 1/0 welding cable.

I wheel with two buddies who both run Ramsey's they seem to work when they need them.

I had a mile marker hydraulic and it never seemed to work right and leaked from the day I put it on.

I would buy warn or ramsey which ever one I could get the best deal on.

im sure evryone has had an issue with everything you know. as for that im gonna say find wich one is in your price range. i know people with warn,ramsey,and milemarker. and ive been pulled out by all of them!! i bought a warn 8274 in good shape for$400. its been sitting on the shop floor since november and im realy thinking about how nice its gonna look mounted on the front. and all my buddies cant wait for me to be able to pull my own winch cable out to save my  ,or theirs

i run a ramsey rep 8000. dam good winch. has never failed me, and always done its job with ease and speed. funnest part was hooking it to Prismo's runner as an anchor and lifting his front wheels off the ground
