LILSWAMPER,

I haven't totaled up everything yet, but here's a list of what I can remember;

'93 4.3 CPI $850
Bell housing I think was $350
Clutch, pressure plate, flywheel, master cyl, and slave cyl another $600 or so.
Wiring harness and computer from Howell $400
That's $2200, of course some of these are rough estimates, since I don't have my recipts right in front of me.
Another $400 for exhaust, and who knows how much in misc. BS.
Anyway, so far very happy with it. Lots of power (approx 200hp) turning 38s with 4.10s no prob. Runs great, starts great, more room and power than the 3.0, and less expensive than the 3.4.
Have to see how this new 4.0 that Toyota is supposed to come out with is going to do. In a few years it may be the next killer engine swap. 300 ponies with the trd supercharger!

your going to have to run a 4agze with a 20r head and a Saab timing chain with a Holley 4bbl.

That's like breeding a bulldog with a gold fish, the 'R' components would never hold up to the massive power of a 4A-GZE

muhahahahahahahaha

(okay back to the topic) :disturbed:
so could i bolt a 4A-GZE to a L52HD and cram it in my 79    :screwy:

I've seen a 4A-GE in a Suzuki with a W56 trans. I heard someone was making a 4A > W56 bellhousing but that's it. And I would never do that so I didnt search for any more info..
The 4A, even Supercharged, is definately not an engine for a pickup. It's a 1.6 for crying out loud!! The torque peaks at I believe 4,400 rpm with 152 ft-lbs. In comparing boost-to-boost, the 22R-TE peaks at 2,800 rpm with 173 ft-lbs.
So clearly the R engine is amazing for bottom end power and that's what we need here. Heck, the torque band for the 4A-GZE is above the RPM speed that most of us dare to rev to, and that's not even talking about the HP that peaks slightly above the 22R's rev limit, and the normally aspirated 4A-GE's HP peaks at 7,800 RPM :o

Hy 81_Toy,
it's actually a snug_top that was made to look like the 4_runner top. The side windows open the same as the runner and it's even got a sunroof in the shell itself.

Here's some pics of my 82 shortbed. It's my first truck and first 4x4 anything. I picked it up for 1000 bucks. Currently it's just a bunch of parts. All work will be done by me, (everything from painting to rebuilding the transmission), so please pray for me as I'm only 16. But I have restored two tractors to date so I guess that'll help a little and also knowing how to weld will help me alot. I'll post pics along the way.
