Since I am anal and modify everything all the time, I cut my old square sliders off in favor of building my own out of round tube (only because I made money off the change over and everything else on my truck is round tube). So far I only have one side built, will be working on the other side as time permits. They are made of 1 1/2" pipe (1.9 OD) since I am a cheap ass  :gap: Let me know what you think!

Here are a couple pictures of the camper shell I paid 100 bucks for. It's made for a standard cab Tacoma so that's why there is a gap between the top of the cab and the top front of the shell. Worth it for 100 bucks I say!

Its holding up relatively well. I used paint that matches actual military paint, here are the specs of the paint itself, taken from www.aervoe.com

Colors are exact matches to 595 Federal Specifications
Dries to a tough, hard finish that resists corrosion and abrasion
Will not chip or peel under harsh conditions
Provides visual characteristics of true camouflage cover
Superior quality, anti-corrosion paint
Performs at temperatures up to 300° F
Designed to U.S. Military Designated Field Coloring standards
High solids, fast drying formula

I like the shell, people expect less from a truck with a shell. Then you show 'em it doesn't matter.

Nice truck, I'm wanting to paint my cab and front end that color or desert tan after I get my mechanical stuff done and the flat bed done. I likes the bike too. wa4x4, if you're gonna pedal something, why have it cost as much as a dirt bike.

Ha, ha my truck is a flat color, didn't start that way but aged to a fine dull finish.

My front fenders are flat, I think they were painted with a brush too. The rest of the truck is half assed krylon.

No just flux cored MIG. I swear, pictures make welds look so bad, it's weird. I think I've been riding BMX for 9 years? I work at a bike shop now and it's pretty cool, trying to decide on what frame to get, either a Fly Pantera or a Fit S3 :D. A couple days ago I got my wisdom teeth out so once I heal, I'll be back on the bike again :)

I just like the functionality of the shell. I had a softopper before (www.softopper.com) and it sucked for sleeping in while camping, plus it didn't totally seal against mother nature. I like being comfy when I sleep so I figured a shell would be my best bet. A carpeted shell combined with a bedrug is the optimum setup! Now I just need one of those fandangled air mattresses that fits around the wheel wells :)

I like shells too, I just hate driving with them, the one that was on my 85 was horrible to do any kind of backing up with.

hey thats wierd! it looks small like tig.  i think you should go with the fly pantera. i have a buddy with that frame, its badass.   i have a fly diablo. i like it alot. yeah i worked at a bike shop for a couple years. now i've moved on to bigger bikes. i work at independant cycle in rapid city sd.  they also build air rides for bikes, legend air-ride. dont know if you've heard of them. its a huge company. we'll be in the next biker build off on discovery channel.   its a badss place to work!

the camper looks more better than the soft topp you had. mainly cause it matches.

on a side notes: i read on TTORA that you had celica seats, what year are they? where did you get yours? and how much were they?
thanks

I want to do a flat color also, it looks sick on a built rig. I want a decent lookin paint job cause its my DD. I run a shell also, mainly because i have no storage space in a std cab. When i do go camping or on a trail it gives me a dry place to sleep. so far iv only slept in it once when it was raining. The best part is i just throw what ever back there and its safe from the weather and anyone taking it.

Mine is perfectly fine for backing up, I can see much better than the soft top, thats for sure! The soft top didn't even have side windows on it so it was horrible. Plus usually in parking lots, I can see over everyone elses cars to see who is coming. It works out just dandy! :D

The only reason I am still questioning a Pantera is because I don't know about the Spanish BB. Which one are you running? (assuming you have an 06 Diablo). Is the air-ride like air bag suspension for motorcycles? Sounds pretty sweet :)

I can't remember what year Celica I got them from. Maybe an 01? I found the best way to look for parts like that is to browse Celica forums. Search on google and look for Toyota Celica forums, I can't remember any off the top of my head :) I think I paid 150 for them, they are in OK condition but one thing is for sure, they are WAY more comfy than the Beard racing seats I had in there before! In a daily driver, fixed back suspension seats are a bad thing!!

im diggin the paint job...mines gonna be somewhat close to that but w/ a few extra added bonuses.........and backing up w/ a cap can be easy...but mine had like 1/10th% tint on it and together w/ my already tinted rear window....thats why i made a strong bumper n just hoped that nothing important was behind me....as fer the bmx...its good to see toyota guys into bmx too......ride standard....thats at i ride...and after meeting moliterno....you dont really wanna buy anything else..super cool dude w/ wayyy to much attention to detail w/ everything he designs and builds...which is very good thing....

I like Mosca's but I'm 6' tall and a 20.2" frame is way too short for me. I ride a 20.5" Freebird and am looking to step up in size. I really like the S3 a lot but the price is a little much, even with my pro deal on parts :gap: Which is why I'm leaning towards a Pantera, they are like $175 cost which is awesome in itself :)

Exactly! Its fun to do body work on my truck, basically just bondo, sand and spray paint and it STILL all matches! LOL If you are looking for a cheap paint job, for sure use this type of paint www.aervoe.com

Man, Standards are old school almost! I haven't heard too much from that company in a couple years. Are you riding an R model? I guess it's hard to say anything about Standard with all the new companys coming out with lighter stronger frames but hey, more power to ya :)

I guess I'd be old skool, we used to take Schwinn Stingray's, strip them down put a 10 speed seat on 'em, cleat peddles, throw the coaster brake in the trash, weld up the handlebars to the goose neck, tape a pair of Donkey-Dicks to them and beat the crap out of em. I think back at what we did and then watch you guys and what you do today and wonder how you do those things.

We'd jump them in the dirt lots around or we'd ride into the mountains in Pacific Palisades or Malibu, push them all the way up on the fireroads then ride them down. That was before anyone thought of mountain bikes, and gears to ride them up.
