What paint is that? Is it the pictures or what but it looks smooth like it was sprayed on?!? Good job!

The paint is called Interlux Brightside paint. Lots of boaters use it on boats and yachts because its quick, easy, is tough against weather, turns out looking pretty good without polishing and is fairly cheap ($22 a quart, I didn't even use 2 quarts to get the results you see in the pictures). Thanks!

You can still tell it was bobbed if you look hard enough. The passenger side bondo job came out slightly better than the driver side, oh well :)

Looks like the black paint wasn't a popular choice  :gap:

Is this paint similar to the Tremclad where you roll a coat, then sand it down a bit, then roll on another? How many coats did you use? Do you need to thin down the pain with mineral spirits? I think the black looks great. I'm debating driving up to Canada and buying some Tremclad or going this route. Ill see if my local boat shop/dealer carrys this and what colors are available. Any plans for an exo or more body protection?

Very similar. Except with Tremclad, people aren't getting results HALF as good as these. Even after doing 3 or 4 coats, this is how it turns out. One guy on the huge Mopar forum did like 16 coats of Tremclad red, wet sanding in between coats and ended up switching to Brightside. So far, it's coming out WAY better after 4 coats. At first I didn't thin out the paint but I probably should have. Thinning out the paint gives you much less orange peel. Once you get the technique down, it's not a problem coating a whole truck/car in one night.

I don't really care much for sheet metal, if I get body damage, I get body damage and that's that. My ORS interior cage should be here anytime now though :D

sweet ride, I wasn't sure of my opinion of the newer trucks like yours until I saw this thread.  Now I'm sold, atleast on whatever year your truck is.  The paint rocks either way but I think it looked better drab.  It still rocks though :circle:

the reason I said have fun was because I thought it was all welded together and you couldn't take it apart.  Being able to take it apart makes it WAY easier.  The cage I was building until I decided to part out my 4Runner was going to be right where I wanted it and there wasn't any way it was going to come out unless I cut it apart

wow thats nice    but im not a fan of the inside cage 2 tight for my phat :moon:
