Rudy soon found that he couldn't hang with the big dogs with stock gearing, one locker... and IFS so the build up began. D44 front, D60 rear with lockers f/r and 5.38's... new springs and a bunch of misc stuff... This is what it looked like Summer of last year after the build.

Up until his first trip to the Con everything was good.. he soon found out that with such a heavy rig that D44 just couldn't take the punishment. A D60 was in the works when he make a big "oops" and rolled it. Here's what it looked like as of about 3 weeks ago.

Ramrod

damn I knew he was gonna roll that thing sooner or later, it is way too tall and heavy.  can't wait to see what you guys come up with

Shamb

Btw for you who know John thats his new 4runner in the back. They just got back from Oklahoma where they purchased it. Did a IFS drop, SAS, new engine and rear axle swap in 1 week. Next is tweaking the rear suspension to get it leveled out. He's got a fresh start and he gave the truck to a friend for free.. lol... hopefully he doesn't hammer the 4runner as bad as he did the truck.

WANTED: SR5 power window door panels. will pay cash or trade for home brew square tube doors

Shamb

well.. in a nut shell thats what we're going to do.. its going to be a bit more extent then that though... full interior roll cage and some exterior work on the front clip and back panels.

I think he's gonna just put some bucket seats in there.  Anyone that needs 4runner interior parts.. he has everything in good condition!

at least it now fits in the garage!

Red Chevy Girl

So when is he getting the tow rig and trailer? Last time I talked to him was when I dropped off the 4 runner at his house after the roll.

That is PIMP...it looks like a mini lifted ElDorado land yacht convertible!
Is that an oxyMORON?
IFS is best kept at ambient temperature in a pile of scrap in the backyard.  When kept under a functioning vehicle, it tends to greatly diminish said vehicle's offroad ability.     -reklund5

Won't the interior cage and exterior cage be the same since there isn't a body?  :headscratch:

Nah the Rubicon can be done without any damage unless you take stupid lines like John did.. his truck got hammered because he got carried away on the virgin run to the con. LOL!

Here in about 3 weeks the cage build will start.. i'll take pics of the progress and post them up. And YES the interior/exterior will be the same thing... but some of it is going to be EXterior around the parts of the body that are still left.
