sas swap what to do about driveshaft ?

fixen to do a sas and was thinking about makeing a front drive shaft from square tubing will that work or if not which way should i go any help would be appreciate thanks

2" square and some 2.5" square... 1/4 wall of course.  attach you joints to it via the welder.  try searching "square shaft" that should tell you all you need to know.   might want to search grease fittings as well.  nice and quiet  :yupyup:   :thumbs:    Good Luck

I made a square one just like he described to have as a trail spare.... But it worked so well I have never taken it off. The only serious drawback that I have with it is that I can't go over about 45mph in 4wd...too many vibes :beerchug:

It was more like front wheel drive :driving:  after I sheared a pinion shaft in two in the middle of metal masher in moab during EJS. :smack:

build it right and it will go to 55-60 mph..  last square shaft i had allowed me to..   in the snow i did alot of 45mph cruisin  with my square shaft.. minimal vibes.. lots of fun

put swampers on it and don't balance em... you'll never feel the dshaft  :rofl2:

cool thanks i will go with the sqaure shaft my sas kit came today so i guess its time to get to work late
