I'm signed up for wrecking ball, a crew of 7 rigs are leaving Chico on April 19th.
BECAUSE I CAN

EarlKann

Signed up for Aftershock.  It will be my first time out there and my rig is untested, heard it was one of the easier trails.

Nic

Me and a few buds are coming down from Canada :driving: and are signed up for Wrecking ball.
85 SR5, 4.3 T350, arb, detroit, bobbed, duals, etc....

Shamb

wrecking ball and outer limits is full??

derek

going, but not signing up for a trail.
signed up last year and didnt want to run the trail i signed up for.
so i am going to run as many as i can the 4 days i am there.

derek

*FFC*

I was wondering about that derek.  I don't know the trails at all so I don't know what to sign up for, and I don't want to sign up for something and not be able to keep up :smack:

From the looks of things I might not make it out  We'll see :crossed:

How does that work Derek... if anyone can just show up and run whatever.. why even sign up and pay?  or is that just for people who dont know where the trails are?  Personally i've never been to JV so I dont know any of the trails.. but i'd like to sign up for something tough... i figured since most were doing Wrecking Ball and Outer Limits i'd join one of those. but seems like they're full... how do they keep track of who is actually on the run or not?

How many people are you going with Derek? I might just link up with you or something if thats cool.

This why people sign up, taken from the TinBender website.

"All profits from this event (monies received in excess of promotion costs) will be donated directly to the Friends of Panamint Valley who are continuing the fight to re-open Surprise Canyon as well as maintain access to the entire Panamint Region. The Tin Benders as a club nor any individual associated with the club will realize a profit or commission from this event."

If you don't know where the trails are, they are pretty hard to find. IIRC the trail leader last year did a count of vehicles before we left.

catfish

your sign up gets you into the raffle (one entry, one ticket) and lots of good stuff, if you have never been there I would suggest aftershock, claw, or sledge first, just my  :twocents:

Shamb

Thanks for the info RokCrawlinToy, how long does a trail typically run with ohhhh... say 10-15 rigs?   time wise..

I'd love to donate for the cause as anyone else would.. They should have some write up's on the different trails for JV newb's like myself  :D

With breakdowns, and that many rigs, you can expect to be on the trail all day. When you go, when there isn't that many rigs on a trail, and no one breaks & all the rigs are pretty well setup or buggies. You can do the trails in as fast as 30 mins- an hour.

Ramrod

I started a thread on pirate a while ago befor I signed up with the specs of my rig wondering what trail I should run and came up with wrecking ball, that is what brad is also running but I plan on running a few others while im there

Shamb

You and Brad have a similar setup minus the body damage.. according to the Signup sheet I can run almost every trail... 37" tires, lockers f/r and dual cases.... rear articulation is the only thing killing me right now... that and birfs.. which will soon change. Its all about driving skill as well though. that plays a big part.

Can I still sign up for Wrecking ball?  I notice theres more then 20 already

derek

wrecking ball is one of the tougher ones.
sledge is nice, claw is good, outer limits is long.
i plan on hitting almost every trail. ran like 6 or seven of them last year.
most of the trails are only a couple miles long but take hours to complete.
you get fed and raffle tickets with the sign up for the trails.
it was ok to sign up, but i had already ran the trail i signed up for twice and didnt want to run it again.
i will most likely be at pirate camp. most of the people i will be wheeling with will be there.

derek
just look for my rig.

Loosekannon

I ran Clawhammer at the AllPro run and with I think 18 or more trucks, it took about 5 hours. One truck did end up on its side. We hit the trail around 10 in the morning. It was long with that many trucks. Ran it with 2 others once before and it took about 2 hours and that was with changing a rear axle shaft.

I signed up fro wrecking ball, and I plan on running as many trails as I can get in on with other people.

BigMike

I'll be on Outer Limits with the Marlin Crawler Crew :turtle: :rockingout: :rockingout: :rockingout:

I'd prefer Moab, if I could I'd go there and never come back.

shamb are you gonna go links before then?

Shamb

Yea the rear will be linked atleast. I bought those brand new 16" Fox air shocks that crawlinYJ was selling on Pirate. So i'll start with the rear and go from there. I ordered my cage from All pro last week as well so that should be coming within the next few weeks. Did you order your cage from EOR?
