mud drags
« on: Aug 18, 2003, 11:22:30 AM »
Sunday we went to the mud drags..I ran but did not place due to very poor lanes.(5th place out of 22 turcks). One very fast and one very deep..My wife ran the womens v-8 stock class with the tacoma 2.7 4banger.She has never raced befoer so this was new..There were a couple of 6cyls and two toy 4cyls also running this class(the taco and one other toy).I must say it was some damn good racing..The toys walked away with the v-8 class to pull a 2nd and my wife a 3rd place win.1st went to a chevy. She could have had 2nd if not 1st had she not had to run the deep lane.It pretty much came down to a coin toss for lanes due to the top three all had one loss.(duel elimination)The class and compitition was stiff with 28 rigs total in tha class and a few with some years of racing know how.The crowd was through the roof with the upset and roared with disbelief that thetoy took two of the top spots..Congrats to my wife and props to the toys..  :driving::love: :beerchug:
On another note i built a 327 a while back and sold it to my buddy who had also never raced before.I worked all day sat to dial his blazer in and get it ready..He also pulled a second place in his class with 3.73 gears and 38.5 swampers..here is a pic of my wife after winning 3rd.. :shocking:

a few years ago i took my Taco with half bald 33" to a mud bog in some hick town in Wyoming and took 1st place in the 35" and smaller class.  i ran with stock big blocks with boggers and what not and beet them by over 30 feet.  just to say there were a few old timers that did not like loosing to a Toyota. but what made it even better is that i was the first Toyota to ever run the mud boggs there.
