Just change the air in your tires to winter air and you'll get your mileage back.
Shoot you reminded me, I need to change the summer air in my tires to winter air.
Hey guys, I have been hearing about winter gasoline sucking or whatever and summer gas being better. Does anyone know why this is? My sister and I were talking about it, she likes to complain and argue, and I couldnt think of any reasoning to why it was better. I have heard you get better performance and better MPG with summer gas but why?
Yknow, I've never noticed a difference in mileage on the bike during the different seasons, but maybe that just means I don't do enough cold weather riding.
All gas stations change gas from season to season. If you have the summer gas in the winter when it is very cold, your car/truck will not start good at all. The winter gas helps this but isn't good for emissions in the summer.
maybe that means you have a brain
Actually, this is good to know. Hey Glen, I did not know that.Nate, my best mileage was 63 MPG back in the summer on the GS500E, and I could average at least 50, but since then, I have not gotten over 50 MPG at all.. So I guess Carbs run a bit rich with colder weather tooWell, another thing, colder air is of course more dense, so it can hold more parts of oxygen per cubic unit. So typically, the chance of detonation decreased with the decrease in intake temperature, so they dont have to have as great of gas in order for an engine to run properly.Mike
