i think you move the front spring hanger forward 11 inches and the rear 4 or so the shackle is straight up and down with no weight on the springs.  The was i figured how much to move mine for my f-150s was to mark your old center line then put a peice of string on the centerline with weight on the botom of the string and then put your new springs up there makeing sure your center line matches up and mark the point where the front of the spring tuches the frame.

Zeke, those springs will flex mucho for you!   I have them on the rear of my S-10 and they work well.  I took the overloads off although I don't know that I needed to.  I have heard from the pirate forum that if you constantly arch the springs in a negative manner, they will bend near the eyes.  I have twisted mine up to the gills and have noticed that they are slightly tweaked.  Bump stops ?????   I probably never will, they are cheap enough that I will just replace them when they get to bad. :beerchug:

It's built Chevy tough with Toyota stuff!

Will putting the 63" springs on an 84' pickup move the axle at all? if so, in what direction. this is for a friend with a pickup.

It matters were you mount the hangers.  If you mount the hangers 11 inches forward of the stock hangers then the axle won't be moved.  anything other then 11 inches and the axle will be moved.

If i was gonna re-do my 63's i'd hang the shackle first and adjust the springs accordingly for maximum rear articulation.

Did you read the FAQ link posted above? It's the very first question!

What year and vehicle do you get the springs from?
The correct years are 1988-1998 1/2 ton Chevy or GMC truck. Don't listen to anyone otherwise. And don't worry about the front suspension it does not matter. You only need the rear springs. Those are the only
years you can get 63 inchers.
