how hard is that trail really compared to the con and how long would it take to get there from the north bay.  Also when does it get snowed in up there.

MiniSimp

The trail usually opens in July.
It is rated 10 out of 10, along with Rubicon and Fordyce Creek
33 miles long
3 days if you rush, 4 if you are taking pictures, 5 if you are fishing.

Duffil

yeah, it's supposed to be a really good(and VERY tough).  I think it would probably be easier for more people to make it out to Dusy/Ershim 'stead o' the 'Con, because it's more central in the state.  But hey, either trail would rock!

Hey Mini! Nice work on the Truffle Shuffle!!!  :haha:

Well, now we are talking about Swamp Lake, which has many difficult areas, but its not nearly as long..

It's all small talk right now, so don't start planning yet!

Hahaha, hey Marlin didnt show up till late Saterday afternoon. Just imagine if they had to drive across the country to a roundup. Plus the shop would be closed for a week atleast. It would be cool to do tellico but thats a long ride.

The difference is one or two rigs coming from Florida to here, or 400 rigs going from here to florida.

wa4x4

Well I might be able to make it to #5 but most likely #6 will be better for me...More experience and can work the kinks out of my rig.

there are more then just one or two rigs on this site of the rock :slap: I'm sure we could get a good group together to do Tellico, :psss: but I wouldn't really expect the MCR5 here.

Unfortunately, unless we relocate, which I don't forsee, we won't be back to the other side next year.

Swamp, dusy, coyote are all out of the qestion. We looked into it all ready last year. Things like-permits, environmental imact study, fees, 1 port-a-poty for ever 8 people, more permits, special tax for selling on Forest Service land ( T-shirts or even stickers ), and lots of insurance make this not feesiable. These trail can not handle 100+ trucks. There are no by-passes or alternate routes. Bald mountain could be an option but still requires all FS stuff.

I think Rubicon is great for the MCR, its been there all 4 times we've had the MCR. I would like to see pre-reg with asigned runs going in to the springs and out to help with traffic jams. Somthing like TCLA does.

Dusy would be awesome, but there is no way it could handle that many rigs for one run. It would take a week to get through it  :twocents:
