And the  1966 Crusier it's going in.

It took a good four years to build the  66 Cruiser in garage. That was my first Crusier build. Now I kind of have an idea of what I want to do to mine.

Well here's an update. After hours of discution with CrusierDave I've decided to make a few changes.  The motors going to be updated to a 1989 motor to get rid of the smog pump.  The trans is now going to be a H55 FJ60 trans.  CrusierDave and I are going to make a detailed install instrutions for the shop from this trans to a Toybox. (Note: Also going to do make  3&4 speed case instrutions also.) T-case is going to be a 1986 split-case from a FJ60.  Axle s are going to be from a 1990 FJ62. I just picked those up this weekend from Troy at Cal Mini-Truck.

I know the rest of the family is excited, but I can't wait.  July is a long ways away!  Can't wait till the van is paid for, so I can get a toy and do some killer stuff to it!  But the Zwald Family Truckster had to come first!  Getting tired of putting money into the nissan, just to keep it running!  Just had to get a new fuel tank for it last week! :headshake:   Next is possibly some frt end work, going to put off the steering box as long as I can, they want WAY too much for rebuilds!  Hello Lucas stop leak!  :yesnod:   Your p/u is awesome, can't wait to see it in person!  Later Ryan-

Ok here's another update. Well it looks like this is going to be a all Toyota Cruiser the the Chevy 350 is out. Here's what happen. So my buddy Bruce is over ( The guy with the real nice 66 TLC.) and were making a plan of attack for the project when I say " It sure would be nice to put a 2F motor back in this thing." Bruce says "I know where a FJ60 is with a motor." And I'm like WHAT????. where is it. It happens to be about 10 mins. from my house. So I'm talking to Bruce about it on the way over to this guys house, and apparently it was rolled in 1987 on a icy road in AZ. This guy has been starting it up to keep the battery charged for years. So I'm thinking to myself, "If this thing was rolled in 1987 and it's about an 84-85 it's not going to have hardly any miles on it. Ya Baby". So we finally find this guys house and he has several Toyota's, so I'm like man he's gonna want a mint for it. So we start talking to this guy and I notice right by the front door he has a Toyota Supra Turbo car. So I'm checking this car out and the guy walks over to see what I'm looking at, I tell him a little about the R- trans that's in the car, and how the twin turbo's make some killed HP. Anyway he tells me that it's broke down and he needs to fix it. (leaky seal or something) So I say you need some cash huh? He smiles and chuckles "yep sure do." So after a little wheel'in and deal'in I pick put the Sept 1984 TLC  for $500.00!!!!!!!!!! Here are some picks for ya

nice find. that year had the EFI I'm assuming.  My buddy is trying to sell me his fj60 he has, the motor has under a 100k on it.  I'll be interested to see how you setup the newer 2f.  When do you think will start to do some more work on your project.

This is a carbed fj60. I think the EFI started with the FJ62. I'm still collecting parts right know but the project should start soon.

tisk tisk Man, you just can't rely on a Kingsburg resident to know what he is talking about ::) :shake:  :shake_head:  :shakehead:

If that car had twin turbos, then it would be a fourth generation Supra (1993 - 1998), with a 2JZ-GTE 3 liter Engine, which did not use the R-series transmission, but rather a V-series 6-speed gear box, know as either the V160 or the V161, depending on optional gear ratios.

If it was an older third generation Supra (1986.5 - 1992), then yes, it would have a a R-series 5 speed trans, the R154, but no, it would only be a single turbo version, the 7M-GTE 3 liter.

Yes correct Mike. But  what I said to the guy was that a Twin turbo Supra makes some serious HP. I was make small talk with this guy trying to work him a little. He came around when we both agreed how much the 3.0 was a piece.
