Check this FJ out
« on: Aug 27, 2005, 09:12:16 AM »

This is one we spotted on the web, ad reads: "1966 TOYOTA LAND CRUISER, The biggest, baddest, most unusual Toyota you'll ever see. Hand-built from the ground up. Body fabricated from FJ40 sheet metal, with addition of a full tube frame rollcage and tilt front-end. Front and rear axles are custom Dana 70s, and the 4spd transmission and transfer case are from a military 2 ½ ton truck. Horsepower (and lots of it!) is supplied by a Chrysler 440cid engine with many aftermarket go-fast components, rated at 450+ hp. Tires and rims echo the real John Deere tractors, and have been custom machined for the heavy duty axles. Paint is excellent, and interior floor has a spray-in sealer applied. This truck has numerous commercial applications, and is always a crowd-pleaser. Call for more info."

Plus I'm still washing goo out every time I hose the bottom side of my truck from last winter. It really sucks to climb under my truck to work on something and get a face full of dirt as I pull the part. Just so you know the underside of my truck is usually cleaner than the top, I hate working on a dirty, greasy vehicle. I was lured into splashing through a mud-puddle by my son, I told him he is going to clean it the next time he wants me to do a splash-down.

wot he said  it's a technique just as much as rock crawlin' just different. I love the feel of not knowing what is there, feeling like its going to suck you in, and knowing how to get out of it. Maybe.

Ive gone mudding once, its a trip! I was in a stock 4runner (my mom's) after I talked her into replacing her street tires with bfg mt's and took her wheeling! Got pretty deep in the mud and could feel it hitting the bottom and being thrown it was cool.

I love "bogging." I do not do it in the Tonka; however, I do have friends here in Alabama that are fascinated with the mysterious goop. For the Tonka, it's just too much to clean.

There is just something about nosing into the unknown at full throttle, powershifting to keep rpm's up, and watching mud come flying from all four corners!  :yesnod:  Such a thrill!  Just like flying out of the bowl at Sandlake and not knowing how hard your going to land your truck!  :gap:

As for washing the p/u, get a pocketful of quarters and hit the local splash and dash!

Yeah just like today when I was setting up my new shock towers and then also decided to take a hammer to my inside wheel wheel for clearancing my tires. What a mess, I finally took off the plastic inner-liner and about 4-5 pounds of dirt (that was deposited when it was mud) came out from each side. When I was finished scraping off all the dry crud I think I gained about an inch of lift back into my front end. My springs weren't saggin' they were just carrying around a little extra wieght

I don't know where you go mudden @ but you go full throttle @ the power lines your liable to hit a big azz power pole or fall off in irrigation ditch. Going up hill not so bad but comming down the other side  :yikes:
