Mikes Motor Build-up

Okay as most of you know my motor blew up on my 87 runner. So I already bought the stuff to rebuild it and I'll post up some pics.


Here is the Dead block

Here is the Donor Block i had layin around and it already has been hot tanked

92mm Rocker pistons

Dual Valve springs with titanium retainers

Hard Chrome rocker shafts with extra oiling holes for High RPM

For the extra torque I got the 261 Crawler RV cam

I got the oversized Stainless Steel Valves Exhaust and intake

Intake .033 over
Exhaust .024 over

And to get the power to the wheels i got the Ceramic clutch kit

Then to top it off I got the 1600 lb. Pressure Plate

Well this exact motor kit from engnbldr.com has 143 hp at the rear wheels and i will be porting and polishing the head and installing a header so I'm estimating at least 160 hp

Heres a pic of what did it all it broke right in the middle

I'm sending the crank, head and the block down to a mach shop to get the block bored, the crank ground and the head prted and polished and the larger valves installed.

Here is the head I will use the only prob is that it got smacked by the piston and left an inditation so i may use the other one I got.

All I got done so far is the Rocker Assy.

I dropped of every thing at the mach shop and the machine work will cost about 500-700 bucks

Oh and I gonna be building a full dash and here are my new gauges

did you just get the master engine rebuild kit from engnbldr or does he have a separate high performance kit.  is that 143hp from and r or re.  I think I am going to get the same kit for my 22r and someday convert it to injection.

that is 143 hp with all the performance stuff they offer and it was for a 22RE then you can port and polish the head deck the block and you'll be on your way to 160ish

when do you think you are going to be done with this motor?  I want to see how fast it is.  I cant last much longer going as slow mine is.  I had to go in third gear up alot of the hills going to the con this weekend and everyone I was with smoked me.

i still got the ford, seeing as pat mad me take it home as is and wouldn't help me with it. I thought you knew i got an 83 pick em up. Yea when you get this project done you should hit me up to go Wheeling.

The motor will be done ina week but the truck won't be done for a while

the gauges are auto meters amerincan platinum series but the only prob is tha tach they offer that looks like the other ones only goes to 7k

I've been really busy but with the port job that i am doing i will have 187 hp at the rear wheels
