I don't know everything about it. But it is a really high nickle content. Pretty much, the strongest rod I've heard of. Also the arc is easy to strike. I work as a welder for a battery recycling plant. So, everything is covered with all sorts of healthy things like lead dust or battery acid. Even with a thick layer of of crap built up on everything. You don't have to worry bout striking an arc. Actually, other than aluminum. this rod will weld anything. Also the penetration is good to. I run it at 40-50 amps on 1/4 inch stuff. And it'll penetrate more than halfway.
Really I just wanted to use it to make a mailbox out of stainless. But thought it would be good for other things. I'd say that about 99 percent of the time, I use 7018
