Well I was at Kragen yesterday picking up some primer. I finally got my axle torn down and cleaned up. I was going to pick up some primer and paint but I started looking at all the pretty colors. :headscratch:  I got to thinking how cool a bright ass axle would look under my truck. Hmmm what do you think? Its a white truck, if I paint the axle then I will most likely use the same color to paint other accesories...sliders, x-member, etc. Should I go with a eye  :o catching color or just hit it with the boring ol flat black and keep it simple?

I used POR15 on mine. It provides good rust prevention and very durable. Take a look at my post http://board.marlincrawler.com/index.php?topic=10538.0

What he said.

I just modified and put this on my truck, I took my son when I went to get my usual black paint and he begged for red. This is just one trip later.

Use the por 15 primer and use their tough paint in colors that they have avaialbe. Go to por 15 dot com. and look at their products they have lots of colors and paints to chose from. I would use the hardnose paints if it was up to me. Be different, be bold, stand out from the crowd at least thats what iam going to do. I dont care if it gets dirty all you have to do is wash it. THis paint should not come off for any reason (hardnose paints(por15). My color of choice is the bright green! Go for it and have fun! :drooling:

Alright so I guess the jury says stay with black. I agree that its alot easier to deal with and it will look nice a lot longer. I was just wondering if some colors would look  :stopit:

If you use the por 15 do not let it run, once that stuff dry's it takes a grinder to get it off.  And dont paint it over any bolts or fittis or somthing that moves because it will seize it.      Otherwise that stuff is strong :yesnod:
