Glass Half Doors
« on: Aug 08, 2005, 06:17:04 AM »
Don't know if this is a repost, but I saw these when someone asked about tacoma fenders over on Pirate.  Haven't checked out the site in a while and it appears they are developing glass half doors...  Wonder how much they would be shipped???  Too bad I got all that stereo crap in there, hate to not be able to lock her up, but the weight savings would be significant.   8)

It would be pretty gross if you caught a possum or sumtin up in there and watched it get ripped to peices...   :reg:

Looks like plexi glass is in the 12-15 dollar a sq. ft. price range.

I've been looking around and I can't find any pictures of plexi floorboards.  Anybody ever seen anything like this??  Got pictures??

Its sure would be cool to look down and see everything. I am actually thinking of doing some half doors that are plexi, I think it would be cool. Someday if my truck becomes more of a trail rig then I'll consider doing the floorboards.

CTENG that is exactly what i was talking about doing in my thread...i already have it all layed out

i was going to weld in some angle iron though to create a lip for the plexi glass to sit on and then drill holes into it and the glass then bolt the glass to it, cause i figured it would get chewed up and unclear eventually so that was i could just take it out and bold a new piece in

get more firewall clearance and its easy to seal from weather..

:dunno: Why not just take the doors off and not run any?!  That would be best for visibility...now the floor boards...that might be tough.   :hammerhead:

some states require doors, makes the pucker factor kick in during sharp corners, and some plexi doors would just be fawking sweet and original
