Ultimate front axle build

What is the Ultimate front axle buildup on my 4cyl.1990 excab when I do my SAS.
This will be driven to all the trails in the Colorado mountians, and Moab, and I want to build it lite, and strong.
Please list parts of what is the ultimate buildup front diff.(84-85 pu, fj80 axle, dana60 which I already have)

What about using the 30 spline longfields, and cryo the ring & pinion?

It won`t be a DD, but I would like it to drive good on the road when I go to the trails.
Do you have a 60 on yours ? If so, how does the power feel turning more weight?

the ultimate toy axle build?  assuming you intend to start with a Toyota housing and what is available right this minute, here goes.

84-84 housing.
marlin 6-stud knuckles, arms and hy-steer
Longfield 30 spline chromo axles and birfs w/300M inner stars
Upgrade hubs with Hendrix Motorsports dowel pin addition mod combined with FROR's upgraded studs.
Cryo all parts, Incl ring and pinion - bobby long
sky topside truss or build your own on both sides
FJ80 HP 3rd or V6 3rd depending on which direction you value you strength
wide trak kit; sky style or Marlin; the knuckles feel the same about the added stress either way.
Locker up to you.  But Ultimate?  Elocker or ARB
Gear ratio - anything but 5.71
gusset steering stops
full hydro
synth fluids
21 year old hottie welded on somehow


Wait.  You have a mini truck axle, an fj80 axle and a dana 60?  WTF are you asking this question for.  60 dude.  60.  (you'll still need to weld up the hottie)

You want the seriou8s ultimate front end your gonna end up with almost nothing stock.

FROR diamond housing
3.54 tundra 3rd cryo'd
Marlin 6 stud knuckles with matching steering kit and arms
bobbies 30 spline stuff all 300M (there is already a set out there)
Hendrix hub mod held on with FROR CroMo studs and bolts

Thats about a 5K fromnt axle and its tougher than any other yota axle ever.  As much as I love yota's Id put a Unimog U1300 set of axles in it for less than he cost of just that front end and NEVER have to worry about a damned thing.

  FJ80 3rd with 5.29's  ARB
  Bobby Long 30's ( 300M would be hella cool )

  Nuckles  either get Marlin's new 6stud set or Front Ranges ARP stud kit
  Front Range's ARP stud kit for the hubs
  FJ40 Rotors with IFS Calipers

aren't the Chromo axles stronger then D60s? I'd beef up the Yota housing and run the bobbly long 30 spline Chromo axles and pretty much everything Alaskatoy said

That ought to take care of all your strength questions.  As fo the question about the strongest, after all that $5000 list of parts, I'm swapping in a 60 and running away with the other 3K I got left on a road trip to Moab!

possible weak points...5.29 precision ring and pinion and/or aisin hub guts??

Well I have a dana 60 front on my blazer with 35 spline outers, 5.86 gears, detroit locker, hydro assist, 1350 yoke.
Rear dana 70, 5.86 gears welded, disc brakes, 1350 yoke. So I might put these under my 90 pu with the 4 banger and see how they feel as far as weight, and if I don`t like them, then I will sell them.

I'd say the 60 but maybe thats because I'm going that route now

but like it has been said earlier go with the hybrid toy front if  its a DD.  I have a toy front end in one of my runners and its a DD but my rock rig I'm building is going full width with a 60 front and 14 bolt rear we'll see how that works out.  See the reason I'm doing that though is because I'm running est. 300 horse and don't want to dump a lot of money in to a small axles

I would like to use my 22re, stock tranny, and the daul marlins, and run 36x 12.5 swamper SX`s.
Not my DD. but drive it to the trails.
Anybody in Denver,CO. with dana 60s and the 4 banger I could come test drive??

If its not a DD I wouldn't worry to much about the power because I know a guy who runs that setup and he runs 40's a believe.  I've run 40's on my toy with the same running gear with toy axles geared 5.29 and it wasn't all that bad on the trail.  If you're in double low you won't notice to much if your engine is healthy.

you can build up a toyota axle and spend way to much money or you can swap in that 60   and be way stronger than that yota axle will ever be. and more reliable.  not to mention unsprung weight is good .  swap in the 60 and be happy and never have to worry about breaking

I forgot but which direction (forward or reverse) is the hy-pinion and v-6 3rd's stronger at?
