I kinda went on a road trip...last minute idea, I get 300 miles per tank, so I can't really complain...but gas sux everywhere

wow.....id cry if i had to put that kinda mileage on my truck. seein its horrific mileage. i love my lil camry and jetta, they hate gas.

i did alot of traveling when i had that 89 suburban, glad i got rid of it cause of gas tho. had over 250,000 miles on it when i got rid of it.

About $30 to fill up the '99 4Runner, but I don't drive it that much. It gets about 15mpg over 70 mph, and about 17mpg if I keep it around 60-65 mph. It will get between 12-13mpg when I tow my popup camper (19' long and 3700lbs and as tall as the 4Runner) up to Tellico. I only use 87 octane and I fill up on the opposite side of town from the college kids b/c it's $0.20 cheaper per gallon.

The '04 Z-71 is my work truck so it costs me nothing, but takes about $50 to fill it up and I put about 60,000 miles a year on it, so that adds up! It gets between 16-17 mpg all the time.

Only cost 14 bucks to fill it!!!!! I got 20 MPG coming back from Auburn this weekend, used 5.709 gallons and went 115.3 miles! WOOT! Its weird goin 115 miles an still seeing it around the 1/4 tank on the gauge...

yeah, I just had to somg my rig and my mileage went up to 17MPG(I had a couple lines crossed), so I did about $30 last time, and that was after driving all day.

I was driving home last week and I stopped for eatins bout 300 miles into my trip. When I turned off my car (amigo) the gas gauge registered at bout 3/8 of a tank. I got back in an hour later and the gauge didn't even register...so now I know the limit of my tank regardless of the stupid gauge. Bout $40 per 300 miles....

My gas gauge in the 4Runner is off, the fuel light will come on when there is 4-5 gallons still left in the tank. It's real annoying but I don't want to remove the tank to fix it.

It's averaging about $2.75 wherever I go from the Bay Area up to Medford Oregon...and that's just the low average. Cheapest I've seen is $2.63 up to $2.95

My odometer and speedo is broken so I cant figure my mileage. I decided to lower my tailgate just for shits and giggles and I have been able to see a noticable difference in how long my gas lasts now. I didnt think that made that much of a difference. I have a large tank in my truck, it takes 40 on average to fill up. But most the time I let the light come on first if I just stay around town. I have a fresh motor in my truck so a tuneup wouldnt do much. whats some other ways to get some more go for the buck? Are there better spark plugs/wires? Does a header or intake do much for mileage?

California has to be the most in the world. It is like 2.67 for regular. My truck gets like 9 to 10 miles a gallon. BUt the kicker is that it takes ma 50 to fill up and it only goes 180 to 200 Miles. But I also have a Honda XR 250 Endro. 68 miles ot a gallon. Now that is waht I am talking about. Save my gas for something funner than work. Spend it on wheelin!!

try those bosch duel prong spark plugs, gave me an extra 3mpg in my v6. air intake and larger exhaust will help out quite a bit as well. downside to exhaust upgrades are that u have to know if ur engine requires back presser or not, for ur low end torque. if u have no valve overlap, put as big of an exhaust as u want, make it 12 inches diameter if u feel like it. if u do have overlap, really limits how much larger u can make ur exhaust pipe.

Well, all motors need backpressure! My truck had the crappiest gas mileage till I put on factory size pipe from 3" down to 2". I know if you run high performance ignition, Mallory, you can run a wider gap on your plugs and get better gas mileage and hp as a result.

Here in Tillamook, OR I pay $2.76 a gallon for cheap-o gas, $40 to fill up and that's only 3/4 empty. I am SO glad I only work 3 miles to work. I just bought new tires for my mtn bike so I can ride to work. If not I should just get the Honda Rebel mc out! 250cc can go at least 200 miles on 4 gallons of gas!

Hell yeah!!!.I'm spending $60 a week just to go to work,not including weekends.That's $240 a month,JUST TO GO TO WORK!!!!. Maybe I should just quit
