Front suspension question
« on: Jul 02, 2005, 07:46:03 PM »
So I just bought an 83 Yota.  Going to chop the frame and put a 4-link in the back.

In the front, for the most articulation I can get, what should I do?   How much lift should I aim for?  Try keeping it in simple terms because I know everyone around here uses short hand terms and I'm a n00b to the Yota straight axle.

I'd like to clear 40"s, but no bed, and lots of fender trimming will help that.

Keep in mind, in no way size shape or form will this see the pavement.  I MIGHT go with a 4-link in the front, but I seriously doubt it.

From what I've seen around here, the biggest increase in articulation occurs when the cross-over is installed on a truck no matter what spring is used. Also since your really changing the rear, I would wait to get fronts springs to see how much you're going to need to lift the front to get it level. Right now I'm getting National springs for the rear of my truck, it's a custom set that takes into account how much weight you will be carrying on the trail with you.

How much flex are you looking for?
Rear pack up front works great.
