nice write up.........had a question about it though......my 86 extra cab truck just got rolled this weekend and i was wanting to put a 4 runner body on my ex cab frame....looks like you did just the oposite........how hard would this be?? what mounts work and don't work if you were doing the reverse...thanks a ton...nice truck

Yota4life

how much did it cost you for that very noticable paint job?

only thing i remebered that had to be changed was the rear mounts were different, in your case the mounts at the back of the cab. it was a pretty simple swap.

seanc

that is a rattle can job, sanded with 150, then 200 then 220 then 440 but the paint is not the cheap kind, the more expensive spray paint lays down better and has a better nozzle.

pickeledpigsfeet

what are you going to do about non matching vin #s? obviously the frame is stamped with the 4runner vin and the cab has it's own vin.

:shhh:  :crossed:

Just take it to the local CHP office and have them re-tag it with the frame #. They'd probably want a brake and light inspection though, and they'd look real close at any mods made to make sure it's legal.
