I am going to replace my exhaust manifold with a header and exhaust and i want to know what you guys think is the best.  Has anyone bought any systems form LC or Downey?  I am looking for something that sounds better then stock and gives me a little more power.  My truck has the 22re motor, tell me what you guys did for your exhaust systems and what you think the best way to go is LC or Downey?

Love my LC header, great mid/low range and throttle response. I have 2.25" all the way back with a flowmaster 40 series and a high flow magnaflow cat.

Had a Downey with my 20R.  No real 'seat of the pants' difference.  Best performance mod was a K&N air filter, BIG difference.

Intake and header gave me a ton of throttle response. I had the header on my 22R and it didn't do a whole lot. Now it's on my 22RE and it makes a world of difference with the intake on there.

First, before you post, do a search.  There are at least three header posts that were made in the last two months.  Secondly, my thorley header works fine for me, but I still haven't gotten it to stop leaking.  It's a cheap tri - y though.

Ive got a doug thorley and its a good bang for the buck.  Under $200 and its nickle plated to boot.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

I have the Downey headers on my truck and like in the other posts no seat of the pants changes, I am carbed though and since I have other mods the headers my have been less noticable. I am also running stock from the header back so I may have some issues there on reducing performance. No leaks either and they are 50 state legal. I do have Thorley's on my MH and you can definatly feel the difference, though it has a 454 in it.
