Looking for a nice center console
« on: May 17, 2005, 08:44:26 PM »
I recently ripped out my stock bench seat for a pair of PRP's, and want to put a nice center console between them.  Does anyone know of an aftermarket one that fits well in a 1st gen yota?  Thanks  :beerchug:

i have put a tuffy stereo console in several toyota's with 5-point seats... but i hear the PRP's are wider with addtional bolsters. not sure though haven't put it a set yet...

I'm actually going to build a custom one to replace my rotten POS in my 85 runner. Just started making templates from cardboard the other day. I've been taking a few digi-pics along the way, and will hopefully do a write up for everyone at some point (yea...I'm lazy). I'm doing it because of a huge wiring project I've planned, and want all my switches and relays centralized. It's not too difficult, just requires some cutting. I'm going to do some welding, but the thing could be bolted together as well.

Just a thought.

get a console from a tacoma. I have an 01 double decker console in my 84 4runner. they fit perfect, most of the screw holes line up with exitsing, and the shifter boot is a spot-on match

They don't fit so well in single cab pickups, but an extra cab maybe.  Also, a crawler box shifter makes fitting it require lots of  :flamer:

Hay Germ, Id like to see what you do. I too have an idea, but I will be making mine out of fiberglass. Actually, I will be using the pieces I cut out of my campershell, and molding them together.
