Where to mount hi-lift jack

I was wondering where you guys mounted your hi-lift jacks, especially if you have a 4runner.  Pics would be appreciated if you have one.  Thanks!

mounted mine on my spare tire mount. in a 4runner you could probably bolt it to the top of the wheel well on either side

If you have the original rollbar there will be a treaded hole. I used 2 old front upper shock bushings 1 on each side and bolted mine there. I is a perfect spot. Sorry no pics since I no longer own my 4Runner.

i jsut got the mount that they sell for it and then drilled some holes in my back (behind the rear seats) and put it there took out the back seats.

I bought hi-lifts mounting system that locks
So I just mounted mine on the front bumper of my 4-runner.
Check hi-lift web site for mounting brackets

Here is mine.  Locked to the tie down ring next to the tailgate with a key lock.  Just barely fits with my bed bobbed 10 inches.

I used to mount mine on the front grill guard I had.  I made two 90 degree brackets, bolted one side to the grill guard, and mounted a  long bolt to the other side of the bracket and bolted the jack to it.

I have since built my own custom bumper and built a cradle to hold the Hi-lift.


If you don't have a way to mount it externally, bolting it to the roll bar would be about the easiest way of securing it.
