Hey guys... just a question about my truck being towed.
Is it OK to put the transfer case in neutral, and tow from California to Florida? Or, do I actually need to trailer it?

Thanks in advance.

ive flat towed my rig a few times not across country though, IF FLAT TOWING REMOVE THE DRIVE SHAFTS.

edit. for that distance i'd trailer it. could rent uhaul car hauler and put a set of smaller roller tires on so that the tie down straps can go around them. tell them yer towing a small car like a camry. years back they said my 1997 f250 diesel wouldn't rate towing my 83 toyota pickup.

Toyota t-cases aren't rear oiled like a jeep, they need the input to be spinning to be lubricated. Like Ruger said, I'd trailer it. If you've got some big ole mud terrains, the amount of tire wear you'll save will pay for the u-haul.

I flat tow when the need to do so and if a short distance (under 50 miles) I leave the rear driveshaft on but for long distance I always remove the rear. That being said if you don't have manual front hubs you'd need to pull both. I only take the axle bolts out and tie the ds up.
