Topic: Off Road GPS mapping ??'s

I am looking for a GPS mapping set up, or program that works off road, and out of cell range.  Just curious to what is out there, and works without breaking the bank.

Google maps has a wifi only option.

You can download offline maps with wifi.

Probably won't show trails, but will show where you're at.




Can be used on phones and tablets without cell coverage.

I am using this combo with windows 10, works great. The software is a little spendy & is not upgrade-able but is the only simple software with topo maps of the whole US that I have found.

Gaia is one of the most versatile app's you can get.

I use GPX Viewer for my offroad maps, works on android and apple with no phone service. I had always wanted to be able to use my .kml files while wheeling. I found the app and tested it, works great anywhere.
