Just made a flatbed for my 82 and I'm gonna go with the round LEDs. I know there's some sort of converter I have to use so that I only have to use one red light (stop/tail/turn) but can't find out which one to use. I have the correct LED lights but the wiring from the Toyota just isn't cooperating lol any help is appreciated.

I think a trailer light converter would do what you are intending.

Good point liveoak. If you dont want to do load resistors you can get load independant flasher relays that will work with LED's. I have always got them from superbrightleds.com

some led lights themselves actually have internal load resistors so you don't have the goofy tapped on standalone resistors

Thanks  everyone I'll have to hunt down those parts and go from there. I called a trailer place and they seemed to not understand so I'll call up another and see what they have.

here is link to the flasher I used. It isnt quite plug and play, you will need to make a short harness to adapt it to your vehicle harness.

Hi! They advised you a lot of useful things here. Did it all help you? Have the lights started working properly? I noticed a little problem on my headlights yesterday. I live far out of town, so I constantly go to and from work at night. In the evening, when I drove up to the house, my headlights started flashing. Despite the fact that I didn't do anything with them at that moment.  I was driving home without headlights. It's good that my house is well lit with street lights. But the situation with the headlights worries me a lot.

I just got the notification for this post but I think it's been here awhile now. I was able to get the lights working perfectly, bought the trailer wiring and used the diagram they sent me and it was super easy. Not sure about the headlight but if anyone knows these guys are the right ones to ask.
