New from Washington

Greetings,
I am new here but heard good things about this site and its products. I am from Washington and looking forward to learning about my truck and maybe meeting up with you guys to go wheel. I have a 2000 single cab Tacoma that is my play toy. Looking to get it fitting with a solid axle and wheeling some trails. Anyone know of a good place to get bumpers built and maybe have an axle swap done? I live in the Buckley area in Washington.

I would not recommend badland after the lack of quality work I have received with my last dealing with them. Also the main guy behind it no longer works there and now the main welder is a 19 year old. I will be going to "those guys rods and customs" after seeing how great of a job they did for blackdiamond. My buddy is having them 3 link his fj80 in the coming weeks.

I would agree with SqWADoosh on his recommendation for Those Guys Rod and Customs (http://thoseguysrodandcustoms.com) in Bremerton based on the work they did on my roll cage.  They are a custom and hot rod shop so their quality and finish detail is excellent.  They were also the lowest cost estimate that I received.

My 2nd choice would have been Exo-Fab (http://www.xo-fab.com) that is very local for you.  I suspect they would do excellent work as well based on their website and my email interactions about my cage.

I made the choice that I did because Those Guys Rod and Customs was a little bit cheaper and much more local and I knew they would do a great job.

I'll be interested to see how the 3-link turns out on the FJ80.  Did you recommend the shop or did they already know about it?

I will check those out as well. What was wrong with the work they did? Was it bumpers or something else.

The entire thread is interesting, but the back half (staring around page 13 or 14) is the story behind SqWADoosh not recommending Badland Bumpers.

I Don't think You would have any problem with them making You a bumper or rock sliders.

I wouldn't consider them no matter the cost, but unless they are significantly cheaper why take the risk?

Tube bumpers look like ass. CBI or all pro make really nice plate bumpers and all pro also makes a good SAS 3link swap.

I ended up with an Allpro Apex plate bumper
