Ok guys this is what is going on,  I have $5000 to spend on my runner for more upgades and I am looking for real life suggestions.
Last 4th of July I  snaped off a rear axle in my ARB, and the splines are still sticking out. So I figured it was time to do some upgrading.

Right now I have:

Stock dual cases,  ARB 5.29's in front and running my little bros 5.29's and detroit in the rear, since my rear ARB and gears are in a box in my garage with part of my axle. Allpro springs with rear johnny joints, 36 X 12.5 R15, I just rebuilt the motor so no need there.

this is what I have spent so far
LC Engineering header and Marlin HD tranny $375 (thanks to freds40   and saleing my tranny to a buddy for $100)
Registration $125
Smog $75
Exhaust accesories for the Header $75
1 Ton GM tie rod ends MOOG $125
Front knuckle kit Marlin $100
IFS box mount kit Marlin $25
IFS box tapped for Hydro and SKY GM 1 Ton Pitmen Arm $200

Money already spent = $1100.00

Plans and estimated price

Hydro ram and hoses for steering $150
30 Spline longfields $635
Rear Chromo Axles $425
Bobby Long Bead lock kit for all 4 $320
ARB $700
Gear master install kit $120
Front shocks $125
Tie rod and Drag link $300 (still shopping that quote  :ack: )
Complete IFS rearend $150
K&N Filter

Pruposed upgrades = $2955

Money already spent = $1100.00
Pruposed upgrades =   $2955.00
total =                       $4050.00
Remaing balance =      $ 950.00

Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

Pruposed upgrades =   $2655.00

Bobbies beadlocks are awesome.  I put them on 10" wheels and now Im running 38.5 sx's.  Great combo.

Id send in your hubs to www.hendrixmotorsports.com for additional dowles and Id get upgraded bolts/studs from www.frontrangeoffroadfab.com.  Also what brake setup are you running in the front?
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

84runner

I'm running stock 84 Runner breaks up front

Go with fj-40 rotors (76-78 I believe) and V-6 calipers.  Much beter breaks.  I missed a turn this past weekend and I locked up my 38.5 sx's on dry pavement with those breaks.  Im also running a 1" bore master cyl.

84runner

Well I just ordered the 30 spline longfields a little bit ago, but I'm going to hold off on the bead locks. So that was $635 Dollars, So the new balances are as follows

Money already spent = $1895.00
Pruposed upgrades =   $2020.00
total =                       $3915.00
Remaing balance =      $1085.00

So nothin really change just the money I have spent so far.  Is there anything else you guys think that I am missing or should do before i do any of these upgrades ?

Hve you gotten the hint about 4.7's yet?  Everyone here and on PBB is saying the same thing.  It makes a HUGE difference!
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

84runner

Well I find myself using 2nd gear with my dual cases and think that the 4.7's are not a major need. For me and my driving habbits

Freds40- thanks i will take a look at that section

Do the front FJ40 vented rotors IFS Calipers, FJ80, IFS V6 or Supra brake master cylinder, rear drive shaft parking brake and rear disk brake conversion if you can still afford it.
Oh and 4.70 gear's if you can still afford them.

Remember if you do the FJ vented rotors and IFS calipers in the front the caliper sticks out alot more it will not clear the inner part of a rim so you gotta run a wheel spacer with it so that's another $100.

See what I mean?
However since you have a rear IFS axle you are probably gonna run a spacer anyways.

Body armer, atleast some good rock sliders.  And I have to agree with everyone else that 4.7 make a huge diffrence, but if you dont feel that you need to go slower than you already go then you will always doubt the money spent....go with your gut.

84runner

Well I got me some rock sliders  made out of 2x2 .25 square tubing and 4 inch channel.  I am looking really hard at pipe benders, I'm looking at $925 for a Pro 105 HD with 240*1.75x6CLR. To my door. I'm hoping to find one used

Many people are saying 4.7s and that's not a bad choice but I think you are on the right track with a bender. What's the point of gearing if your cab is crushed from a hard roll and you can't drive it anyway.

I got the Pro tools 105HD and the best prices I saw were @ Rock Buggy Supply. I ended up getting mine from Pro Tools direct as they obviously had the quickest shipping times. 1.75 is a good one to start with, as time goes by, you will find the need for more, I just picked up a 1.25 for my buggy build.

4.7's !!!!! and a winch....go to northern tool and buy a hydraulic hand pump tubing bender($100 or so)
That's how I roll

84runner

I'm going to hold off on the 4.7's for now. And I would pay the extra money for the better bender because it would be more reliable and efficient. I think it would be more time consuming for the bodle jack kind. Plus I already got a press  :gap: . Plus I plan on doing some jobs for other people to make my money back on the purchase.

And to bad you didn't live closer Brendon I could get another die and we could swap back and forth.  So when you movin up here

Alright I need some opinions on Rear axle shafts.  Can you tell me Who makes the best rear axle shafts for a yota IFS rear, and why. I am in the market and want to do it right the first time. So any first hand experience woudl be greatly appriciated.
