Hello,
I have Jeep Cherokee with a Toyota 2L diesel adapted to a Jeep AX-5
manual transmission I got from a junkyard Jeep here in Africa. Not very
fast but it is still going (the conversion was made in 2009).
Recently it began to be difficult to shift down to first gear. Now the vehicle
has to be nearly at a stop. Would this be the synchro between first and
second gear? Can I replace the Jeep's brass synchro with a Toyota one?
Would I need the synchro sleeve and spring, etc or would replacing the synchro
gear be enough? If so, can someone point me to a source for quality parts?
