Red October

Hello Everyone

I'm new to Marlin, just checkin in and introducing myself.

My rig is a 97 4Runner, 3rz (4 popper), 5spd. I just finished installing engine #3 to keep her on the road. Red is my daily driver, weekend wheeler and camping exploring rig.

While my rig is pretty mild at the moment I like seeing all of the skill and hard work that goes into some of the other rigs here. One day, when I have worn down the wife far enough I will build something too. For now I do what I can get away with.

....Zombie thread...

But I am still new, again, haha! I haven't been totally absent, since I cruise around and creep on things, but since I lack crawling experience I haven't posted in, literally, years.

I'm hoping that's all about to change tho. I still have my 3RZ 'runner daily, and now wifey has a '99 Limited that I just finished building a brandy brand new engine and trans for, all new suspension and new leather inside, all the goodies. So she's all warm and fuzzy inside, and it was a great time for me to finally get her to agree that its time for me to get mine!

...So I have a '94 'Runner, I drove this truck in high school, many moons ago. But the 3VZ gave up around 265k and its been parked in my parents yard for ages. And about the time I was wrapping up my wifey's new ride, my brother wrecked his, and told me I could have the drive-train. That same week my Mom called and asked me to get my broken :pokinit: out of their yard. My buddy from work told me he would trade me a gear drive t-case for a set of tires that I took of the wifey project. And as luck would have it an '85 SFA showed up in my local classifieds, for basically no money. The Toyota Gods have spoken it seems! And I am planning my latest project truck with bated breath.

So shes gonna be;
- 5VZ swapped, with the R150
- SFA swapped
- 2 E-lockers, one was gonna go into my daily, and one harvested from my brothers wreck
- Geared case
- I'm thinkin Chevy 63's out back
- Radius arms/ coil-overs up front and a wheel base stretch
- 35's, for now, until axle gears.

So I've just gotta put together a few more things and start building! It may take a little time but I have a helluva start!
