'80 pickup fuel sending Ohms
« on: Feb 18, 2016, 06:07:40 PM »
Does anyone happen to know the empty and full ohms for a 1980 pickup fuel sending unit? My gauge doesn't work so I may see about getting an aftermarket one, or a new sending unit, if that's the problem.

I'll bet thst when you drop the tank you'll find the arm is almost worn in half. Clean it, bend a little more strength into it to make better contact and see how it works.

Sorry not the answer your looking for bur has worked for me on a few occasions.

Oh, if that's it then that would be much easier. You're meaning the float arm?

Not necessarily. What the float arm attaches to at rhe actual sending unit you'll see a little wiper arm device that moves with the float arm. Once you tear it down you'll see it. Just be careful not to break it.
