Quality Winches for lest than 1000AUD ?
« on: May 24, 2015, 04:07:54 AM »
i guess the point of this post is to ask what winch you use, how much it was, what you think

looking at a getting a quality winch thats fast and has a good amount of cable on it

not looking for that rope stuff the sun light and water buggers it up real fast im looking for steel cable yes i know if it brakes.. yes it may fray where gloves and use the damper with a good load in it job done imo no washing rope out or shading it from the sun fit and forget

so i was looking at the super winch brand and found the Sherpa winches to be a good sort

warn are crazy for price nearly 1500 aud for a 9500 ponder so with a budget of 1000 no chance

been looking at this bad ass winch its 17000 pound or 7.7 metric tones has 45m of cable and pulls 7.5m per minute of cable no load on/off the drum with 6000pound or 2.7tones its pulling 4m a min of cable so a fast winch it seems well built on my door step for lest than 900 aud seems a good deal to me

thoughts and options?

If you will need to rely on your winch then get a Warn or stay home. There is a reason that they demand a higher price. It is te brand that everyone laments not getting when theirs isn't working.

If you don't have to fully rely on it, then there are several other great options. I run a Warn M8000 but have only used it twice and only once for my rig. I almost got an XRC8 or XRC10 but found the Warn for not a lot more.

Have you considered hydraulic or PTO options?
1989 4Runner: Dual Ultimate (Inchworm front & Marlin 4.70 rear), Marlin Twin Stick, 1200-lb clutch, 4.88 R&P, Aussie Front, Detroit rear, 30-spline Longs, Long hub gears, ARP hub and knuckle studs & 35x12.50 Cooper STT PRO tires.  Marlin rear bumper & sliders.  FROR front bumper.  SAS with Alcan springs & Rancho 9000XL shocks.  Budbuilt Bolt-on traction bar.  Custom Interior Cage by Those Guys Rod and Customs.
