Looking for new headlights
« on: Jan 01, 2014, 05:46:57 PM »
1995 4runner. I have the stock headlights and the glass is pretty fuzzy and the bulbs are getting dull.  I'm looking for a lighting kit tha will improve on what I have. Does anyone have any recommendations?   I know the 95 4runner had a different kind of setup than previous years so it is making it a bit tough to find a good upgrade.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

There are products out there to clear up the plastic housings and then you can take your pick on which blubs you want.

You could always upgrade to a HID bulb.

there glass right? just the newer style, they can get water in them and condensate and leave a film in them. but you can upgrade to a 8k bulb with your current ballast,

I ordered the marlin/visionX lights for Christmas. Unfortunately, they are not the same shape or size as my lights. Luckily they will fit in my sons 82 hilux.

Check into Rockauto, or Amazon.  Another place is Upullits for factory housings.  And check out Sylvania Silverstar bulbs.

Is your housings fogged over on the outside, or inside?  If its just the outside, get some polishing compound, and go to town on them.  And then spray them with a clear coat.  A body shop friend told me about this.

My 91 sitting in the shed has a 4runner front clip, and the housings are full of old rusty water.

I have roundeyes on my 85. They look nice & different, you can tell these aren't your regular $20 ebay headlights too from the quality & materials. They work and look great and that is all I can ask for.
