Got a new head. What to do with it?
« on: Mar 17, 2005, 09:39:58 PM »
Just got a new head on ebay.  Now that I got it, what should I do with it?  cams, valves, inserts, suggestions?
bronze valve guides or stock?  what kind of seals?  name brands?

Get the EB(enginebuilder) oversized stainless valve kit and a RV cam. They are on ebay alot.
You will just have to have a little machine work done on the head to machine the valve seats.
You don't really need the bronze guides but if they come with the kit might as well do them as well.
Here's a o/s valve kit on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7961367914&category=33617
As far as seals you could just use a felpro head gasket kit
They come with new valve stems seals that way you have a headgasket and everything else to install it.
You can pretty much pick that up locally anywhere at any advance auto or kragen or autozone.
