Head Question

OK So I got a new head for my EFI swap since mine supposedly wasnt going to work. Well, I got it all cleaned up yesterday and when I went to try and put on the intake, it all matched up except one part. The bolt patterns are all the same, but that last little square hole thing towards the back of the head, was not covered by the intake. So, I am wondering what that is? Does it need to be covered by the intake? On the head it just goes in about an inch and is solid all the way around. I have pics of it from my camera but will get them when I get home.

Heres a pic of just a head. Its the little square port thing at the left side. Its the one in between the back 2 intake ports underneath that monkey doll thing.
