Why I quit on professional sports
« on: Apr 01, 2011, 06:26:51 PM »
After the last football strike I pretty much quit watching all professional sports, I just couldn't believe how all about the money it has become and now we have another looming strike.

That being said that wasn't the only reason I quit watching, now I know that fights have always occured but it has started to get out of control. Pretty sad state of affairs when you can't go to a game and be a fan of the other team without fear of being almost killed in the parking lot. I used to go to a lot of football games and since I was a Miami fan I've been to almost all the stadiums in the region to see them. It used to be Ok but stupidity now reigns and if you are a fan of the visiting team beware, you will be pelted with anything they can throw at you.

This world is going freaking crazy. I hope the SOBs get life as a pregnant dog in prison.

Yeah pretty sad that you can't go enjoy a game in any sport without all the threats and fighting. Being what I consider somewhat intelligent I used to go to Raider games when they were in LA to watch them play Miami, even back then I would not wear a team shirt knowing what would happen. It used to be only the Raiders you had to do that for, today even meek little baseball might get you hurt.

When I lived in DC (the 2nd time), around the bicentennial, I used to go to RFK wearing my Dallas jacket...we gave each other crap, but no one got shot. I've been thinking lately...I'd make a damn good hermit. I really, really hate what passes for society these days.

never could under stand why people get in to watching  professional sports, you know most of the laws people dislike are passed when it's play off-seasons. remember when they passed smog law for 64 and newer in 80 at world series time =[

The guy is still boogered up.

If they ever catch the guys that did it...I'll volunteer to pull the switch or trigger.

Just sad.  Also, so many people seem to use sports clothing to represent their gang.  When did sports teams start to represent Gangs, hoodlums, and convicts?

I hope the police get and hang (or bury at sea) the peckers that did this. I'd give 'em a .50 cal enema.

Not that event but pretty much is why I don't go or even listen to them anymore, I used to go to Dodger games all the time in the 80's and slowly but surely I saw the transformation that it has now become. Not anything I want to be involved with. Plus since I know that the organization booted L.A.P.D. from being the security there when the O'Maley's sold the team and it was too expensive to pay real police to be there that was it for me. Sadly I knew this day would eventually come.

2 new suspects arrested in Giants fan beating

"LOS ANGELES (AP)—Two new suspects were arrested Wednesday in the beating of a San Francisco Giants fan outside Dodger Stadium and the original suspect may well be exonerated, a law enforcement official told The Associated Press."

Yeah it sucks,  my kids school dosn't allow any clothes with sports logos.  I dont mind not paying $25 for t-shirts but its just kinda shitty that a few "cholos" fighting over there raiders shirts can screw :pokinit: up for the whole school district.
