They sell antena mounting brackets that bolt on.You can pick them up at a dirtbike shop,or at a truck stop.I don't know what dunes you're going to,but I know that at glamis, they also have them at the beach store.

Ive seen a lot of different mounts tha tpeople have made that were nice enough to leave on full time.  You could do anything from a peice of 1/2" pipe welded to a chunk of flat bar.  lay the pipe on the flat bar and weld it together, then drill a hole through the pipe and weld a nut to the outside.  Then all you'd have to do is mount the metal plate to a bumper etc. and stick the mast of the flag in the pipe and put a bolt in the welded nut to secure the flag.  Easy and basically free.

Hey, why not ask the Moses Lake guy!!  Heres the quickest way to do it for easy removal.  Use an air hose quick disconnect, I have two friends that do this.  Bolt it through your cage, bumper, or whatever.  Put the male end on the end of a whip antenna and there you go.  I usually just zip tie a shop rag or orange flag to the whip.  Easy removal when your done in the dunes and you wont tear your flag off when you get back into the trees.  Even a cheap ass magnetic mount antenna base with a long enough whip would work.  I don't do either of these.  I am always tying my antenna down when I go into the woods so it doesn't get torn off.  One of these days though.....

Here's a pic of a quick disco setup.  Obviously, this wouldn't work as a CB antenna, just for a whip for the dunes.  Trust me-it's cheaper to have a flag than not have one at all.  Weld the larger hex part to whatever, and weld the smaller female end to a whip.  Pretty easy.  Oh yeah, it's easier to weld to steel rather than brass.  Make sure you get a steel whip, steel disco, and a steel coupler.  I've seen, brass and aluminum fittings, so check with a magnet if you're not sure.

Red or orange is fine.  I've seen people fly big ass Confederate flags, big Chevy or Ford flags, American flags, and one of my friends even has a big yellow don't tread on me flag.  I guess as long as you're seen, you're safe from tickets and injury.  Now here's the weird part-the smallest vehicles, 2 stroke dirt bike with no lights, aren't required to have flags.  I wouldn't want one either for balance, but some of these idiots actually drink enough to ride them in the dark.  :smack:  I've had rock lights on with a strobe and head lights on at night.  It gets nuts sometimes out there.  People get killed out there almost every year.  Usually in a tent at the bottom of a dune and get crushed by a big Chev in the dark.  Just be smart.
