1979 20r point type distributer

Has anyone heard of a place to get a point type distributor for a 20r motor?

Thanks I am really looking for a point type.I am not even sure if they make such an animal.I grew up in Monterey.

they might have had one on the old 8R or 18R  but why would you want to do that?

the 79 20R ignitions is so basic and simple its crazy easy to fix and my 79 has 399,600 miles on it and still running the stock distributor it came with.

Yep they are pretty darn simple.I wish I could fisure out why mine is leaving me on the side of the road I have replaced everything but the magnetic pickup in the distributor

i'd be very surprised if that was it but the wires from the pickup coil to the harness could have broken inside the insulation

in a pinch you can use a 22R magnetic pickup coil

Thanks for all your help would you happen to know the ohms reading on the pickup coil? I even replaced the elec fuel pump and put an aux tank in the bed to make sure there wasn't something floating around in the tank.

130-190 ohms

Nice coyot!! So smart on this ish 18 r I believe has points
and x2 many miles on stock 20r electronics. Only replaced 1 coil. And 2 voltage regulator 6pin!! Coyot mabe you can help me with a webber coke install , I have had probems w my truck in the morning!!!
