Vision X Lights added to "Old Red"
« on: May 29, 2010, 07:39:08 PM »
Every upgrade for a newbie regardless of size is a small win.  I just added a new headlight kit from Motorsport Squared (Vision X) to "Old Red".  If you are looking for an inexpensive upgrade that truly lights the world consider hooking up with my buddy Darick at http://shop.motorsportsquared.com/main.sc  Tell him that Pastor Kerry sent you.  I added Vision X (VX - 57 Lamp Kit) with (VX 7RD) 90/100 watt halogen bulbs.  They seriously are a world apart from anything I've ever known.

I am so excited about putting together a complete light package with Darick here in the very near future.  I am a believer now in lighting up the world while off-roading.  Call Darick and let him set you up...

It really is... I was completely blown away after hooking them up and taking a night ride down by the beach.  My factory lights were dull with a yellow tent.  These are seriously bright white and light up at least another 75 yards further, wider field of view, and crystal clear.

Can't wait to add a couple of HID sets to the the package.... who knows might even look at an LED package down the road.

I love lighting up the night especially when I am in an off-road environment in the desert.

Darick seriously hooked me up. http://shop.motorsportsquared.com/main.sc

Did the lights drop right into to the oem buckets?  I couldn't get any information regarding it on either your buddy's site or Vision X.

In your other post you said they were 90/100 hi/lo, are they D.O.T. approved?

So, why run 90/100 high low lights.  Low beams are generally 55 watts, and highs are generally rated 55/90 watts.  So, buy getting these, you might as well just be running highbeams all the time.

I love my $12 Sylvania's.  Out shined all others I've used.

I have to disagree on this one.  I have the Hella h4 kit in my truck and it is ridiculously brighter than the regular sylvanias I had. And those were the silverstars.  I have the 55/60 bulbs in my lights and they do not blind on coming traffic at all.  If the lows are aimed right they will be fine as long as it has a crisp cut off.

Yes... they dropped right into the buckets, clean as a whistle.

I found out they are not DOT approved bulbs so I am looking into a lower watt bulb for daily use.

Good question... as a newbie I am still learning.  The trajectory on low beam gives me a seriously clean field of view within about 50 to 60 yards and when I throw them to Hi they really reach out and the field of view is even wider.

I'll try to get some night time photos post in the next several days to show the different.  Sorry I don't have any to post tonight.

This is what I've found to be true so far with the ones I've installed.  They are aimed down and away from on coming traffic.  They are also significantly brighter than anything I've seen in a normal bulb.

You may already know this, but whatever you do, avoid blue bulbs like the plague!
