Springs
« on: Jul 30, 2010, 07:49:02 PM »
Right know I've got the trail-gear 3in springs up front and the rear springs are  from a 4 inch ifs lift and its sitting on 35's.
I want to run 38's so should i just throw them on and trim accordingly or should i change my spring set-up to??
heres how its sitting.

Swap to a better quality 4" lift all around, do a little trimming and you should clear fine.  Might have to push the axle forward a hair, might not.

Depends on how long your slp yokes are, you may get away with not having to. You could always build a square tube front.

The problem with the square front is that I drive on the freeway in the snow all the time so i think it's not my best choice. I don't wanna install dual cases and then get the new springs later on and have to do my drivelines twice :dunno:

That's understandable. I am orignally from Washington. I don't know for sure what the conditions are where you from but I have never driven any of my vehicles in 4wheel drive on the freeway. For snow, I used it when I needed it and then I would unlock the hubs but I do see what your getting at. I hate to do things twice.

Ya exactly i dont wanna do it twice when i can make it a one time thing, and i tried two wheel in the snow once and my rear detroit took me for a spin or two or three.

Dont you have to have a truck to do that ?  JK hopefully you get it back soon.  I deff would get rid of that chain drive asap. Those things go bad FAST !!  Nothing like being on the trail in the middle of nowhere and break a chain. Its a long tow home.
Get that thing set up with some marlin springs !!!
