A little tight. Add the thin shim. Download the FSM it will tell you all the specs
If you see it, its for sale.

Here is a link for the frontend section from the 85 FSM;

http://www.lukemiller.org/toys/1985_toyota_4wd_front_axle_FSM.pdf

Here is a link from 4Crawler's for rebuilding in laymans terms;

http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTricks/AxleRebuild.shtml

The bottom shims are for centering the knuckle on the housing and the top ones are for setting the pre-load.

Here is a link for building the tool to get the proper centering and pre-load;

ok guys ive got my knunkle preload good , but my wheel bearing preload is off i think  i fish gauge only gos to 25 and take a lot more the that to turn it.  did every thing like those directions said too it feels good just want turn that easy even with the nut took out it takes more then 25 lbs to rotate it. is this normal or do i have to take it apart

I have found that if you apply a thin coat of grease on the seal surface the hub will turn easier. Also make sure that the surface that seal rides on is as smooth and rust free as possible. I do not check the pre-load on the wheel bearings, I just set them up per the instructions in the FSM minus the pre-load step.

you mean that when you rotate the knuckle it breaks free at 12 lbs and then tightens up?

What kind of bearings do you have in the knuckle? If there TG bearings they are crap.
