Up there...isn't it likely that someone dropped dey crack pipe while the were driving around trying to find a Toyota to steal?

I *almost* had that happen on front of my store once. I put it out though. There is a brake sensor living in the MC that likes to catch on fire.

hey chris your truck is smoking!
yeah so anyway I need some parts.

A ranger pulled off the highway a little in front of me a couple weekends ago, and as he turned I could see a ball of fire around the rotor and caliper.

Unfortunately, those autoigniting Fords are happy to take out innocent victims when they self-combust.

This is what happened to my wife's car 30 minutes after she got to work. An expedition parked beside her. Needless to say, the Explodition was totalled, and their insurance company (State Farm) said that they were not liable for any loss on our vehicle, because there was no negligence on the owner's part, and there was no physical contact between the vehicles. It is now in the hands of a lawyer.
It ain't worth doin' if you don't have to clean up afterwards!

A Department I previously worked for had two explorers (amongst other vehicles) as patrol vehicles.  We called them exploders.  No one wanted to use them.  Eventually they became back up vehicles and after a while were sent to the parks and rec. department.

No seriously there is a reason why they are called exploders.

I would never buy one.

There has been a recall out for years for the cruise control deactivation switch on both ford cars and trucks.  That means that if you are afraid of your explorer or expedition catching on fire, you should also be afraid of your f-series trucks, rangers, crown vics, grand marquis, town cars, F-series motorhomes. . .etc.  Various models and years of these vehicles if equipped with cruise control.  Most of these vehicles that are currently catching on fire are vehicles that the owners have failed to have the recall performed on.  Or, vehicles that the owners have failed to have the recall to the recall performed on.

They don't call them exploders for nothing, as typical for most Fords another on meets a typical end to its life.

PLUS...1.5 million (and 1 or 2 extra) not to buy a GM product

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/gm_recall

"GM recalling 1.5M vehicles over potential fires"

They took bailout money...but will, in all likelihood, still go bankrupt.

They let the President dictate who will be their CEO.
