Hi-steer Question
« on: Mar 05, 2009, 08:09:05 AM »
Are there any major downfalls to using Hiem joints on a hi-steer?

Found these. The hiems are possibly binding on droop, I think. There was recommendation to use chevy 1/2ton ends on the draglink.... will those swap into the AP hiem joint thread pattern?

The holes on the Pitman arm and steering arm are straight for Heim joints and TRE's take a tapered hole.

I doubt if the threads are the same in the DL.

Just to let you know, Heim joints are not legal in most states on steering componets. They are not DOT approved.
