84-89 4 Runner Soft Top NEW + Used Detroit 4cyl locker
« on: Jun 20, 2008, 04:36:21 PM »
Brand new Killer Toy Tops black softtop with tinted side windows for 1st Gen 4 Runners. Bought it for my daughters 4R but the motor went south & we sold it before ever installing. This is the top that uses the factory rear window, but is also setup so that you can order a soft rear window at any time to eliminate the roll up style - soft rear window is NOT included. This also has the powdercoated (black) side rails instead of bare aluminum. It uses the same Sunbrella material as the Can Back, but has the distinct advantage of being able to remove the sides instead of just rolling them up (where they shortly thereafter start getting scratched by the straps keeping them in the rolled up position, I know this from experience with the Can Back i had on my last 4 Runner).

Here are pics of them installed:

With glass rear window rolls up & seals nicely:

ALSO HAVE THIS...
Selling a used Detroit Locker for a 4cyl for $375 (full locker, not an e-z locker) and it comes with a free 3rd member, gears are shot though. Bought it for my daughters 4R but we sold it before installing. Paypal accepted to ease the pain and local buyers get preference

I hear ya, but my Canback was over $1100 back then, like $1300 now, and this is better quality & features for less cash. You get what you pay for & this kills the suntop & old Kayline stuff

Do you need to drill any holes to install it or does it use the hardtop mounting bolt holes?

I have one here in Vegas... and it's just a bolt on system. I love it! It's 110+ here and I still run with just the Safari top. If I need to intstall the sides, it's a 5 minute job! Very good craftsmanship. I paid $1100.00 for the tinted sides and rear window. I will do it again if I have to..:)

Nope, no drilling, uses the existing holes in the side rails.
