What locker would be stronger? Aussie or soft detroit?
« on: Jan 08, 2009, 01:46:04 PM »
Just wonder which locker would be stronger the Aussie locker or soft detroit? I think i remember hearing the Aussie locker was almost as strong as a full case detroit, i've been running them both with 36" iroks for past 3 years and so far so good but just wondering which to keep if i go a different route..... E locker etc.

I believe the detroit is a the stronger locker as it replaces the toy carrier, but the aussie survivability rate is much higher when something else in the axle breaks.  If you have 30splines or cromo axles, I’d keep the Detroit.

If you keep the aussie and you've got 3years wheeling on it, I'd start carrying a spare carrier center pin.

well it not the full case detroit so it doesnt replace the carrier, and the aussie is in the front so it hardly has much use at all compared to the rear.

Detroit locker is the unit that your ring gear bolts onto, EZ Locker is what you must be refering to? The Detroit locker is far superior to any auto lunchbox lockers out there.
