so, i have a question/ want. does anybody know if i could put the mounting stuff for an '86 dash in my '82 w/o much work? and if i could then does anybody have the stuff to mount the dash? i already have a dash just nothing to mount it too.

somebody on here did. i remember seeing it awhile ago.

edit: just saw you only want to use the brackets. they did the whole dash swap.

You want to put a second gen dash in a first gen?  You want to replace a sexy dash with one that looks like it was designed by an art school dropout?

I DON'T WANT TO REPLACE IT!!! i just got a second gen. cluster because i switched the engine w/ my 86 and 82. i replaced the wiring harness.

good luck, i put a 92 cluster in a 79, but it looked like butt, so i finnaly swapped in the whole 92 dash

If i were to replace the dash or even needing to put in a whole new cluster for a first gen like what your saying, i would just make a whole new custom dash.  Here's the like to the thread with a diagram for one.
