have a problem with my tach

well i fixed my idle problem but the tach is still screwing up if the truck sits for to long the tach wont work untill the truck is run for awhile meaning if it sits overnight it wont work then it doesnt seem to want to run kinda spits and sputters anybody have any ideas what to do or look for?

Sorry its a 85 extcab sr5 with 22re and factory tach  :smack:

I have a 80 w/ 22r same problem i'll watch your thread, seems like mine only works after I go thru a creek????

while the engine is running reach up under the dash and unplug the round plug to the drivers side of the speedo cable

my problem is my tach only goes to 7 thousand...lol
