Hellas Dual Battery Switch
« on: Mar 21, 2008, 02:36:58 PM »
Hey, does anyone use the Dual battery switch that Hella sells.  Its from HellaMarine. On the front there is a Big Black dial that reads Off, Batt 1, Batt 2, and Both.  On the back thare are 3 bolts. One reads COMMON, the other Battery 1 and the next, Battery 2.

Does anyone have an idea on how to install this.
I e-mailed Hella directly and have not gotten anything from them, and Offroad Warehouse has no clue either.

ANY HELP?????

Common would goto the positive lead of the electrical system (whatever is normally hooked up to the positive terminal of 1 battery, except for the starter cable)

Batt 1 & 2 goto the positive sides of the 2 respective batteries

Pick a battery to handle starting chores and hook the starter cable to it.

Above is assuming that the battery switch can't handle the amps of a starter motor.

If it can handle a starter motor,  hook the starter cable to common.
