marlin 6'' springs
« on: Jan 17, 2008, 05:15:12 PM »
has anybody installed marlin 6 inch springs on their rides yet?? If so could i see some pics? preferably on a 1st or second gen truck. I know the 4 inch usually measure more than 4 inches...Id like to see how the 6 inchers look. Thanks,

Nope, sorry dude I havent done the marlin 6". Not yet anyhow. Im going to put the kit on mine. I got new stock 6" lift kit on mine and I dont like it. Looks good but not real functional for off roading if you know what I mean.

It will be real tall. 5in springs will fit a 37 with minor trimming.

Would it be better to go with the 5" lift with 37" tires? What kind of minor trimming is involved? I plan on running 37s on mine but dont want to get it too high if you know what I mean. Also dont want to cut ur all up either.I heard that you would have to do some firewall mods to get that app. Oh, sorry for jacking the thread toeyato!

stock length with 6 inches of lift must look like a  half  of a pipe cut

toeyota,   unless your gonna run 38's   i wouldnt,  5 inch  with  35's or 36's  would be better

Yeaa, just wondering what it looked like really. I dont do rocks, center of gravity isnt a concern. No big deal. If any can find a pic of a truck with 6'' springs, thatd be good.

When I made it into a project the first time I put those springs on it because I didnt plan on wheeling it in the rocks. Then I got a little taste of the rock crawling and now its a project again! Making it more rock worthy.

toeyota, I dont have a picture of my 6" but Ive got shackle lift as well and 38s fit well if you plan to go big!

my 6in lift is stock lenth. no relocation of any thing but my butt off the seat when i hit a bump and no flex. LOL but that is NWOR springs and they look like stacked wiskey barrel rings cut in half. im considering marlin 6's and they require relocating spring mounts for longer springs im betting the flex is way better. im running 39.5's, a 3in body lift and i run slow on corners lol. i also would like to hear from those running 6in marlin's, have you considered 4in lift with 2in shackles? i was thinking about it. im sure if it is a bad idea. we both will know pretty fast. not to steal the topic just interested in the same thing and wanted to bash my nwor crap lol. if i change to marlin befor you deside i let you take my nwor springs for the only resonable price i can think of some where around free or i might give you gas mony to pick them up. there fine on road and rough off road and i cant wait to change them.

Thats what I got on mine, NWOR springs. I agree, they are crap for the off road. Just got my marlin 5" in the other day. Puttin it all together on the next days off. At least getting a start on it. Totally agree though, stock lifts are no good off road. Im doing a 2" shackle as well an going to run 37" tires. No body lift. I think it should work out well.  :crossed:

i started off with 5" all pro's with my axle pushed forward a bit. runin 37s and its still too tall so i took 2 leafs out. it sits about 1.5-2 inches lower wich is perfect i think but now im bending them. i think 4" springs would be great for 37s my buddy has 3" spring on 37s with no problems. im also all about LCOG :twocents:
